Terms of Service
Last updated: November 1, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Damian Gaynor, doing business as Miloop (“Miloop,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). They apply when you use Miloop's website at miloop.app, the Miloop app for Mac, the Miloop extension for Chrome, and the Miloop extension for Visual Studio Code (together, the “Services”).
By signing in or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Notice; the Miloop app for Mac asks you to do both when you sign in. If you use the Services on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you may accept these Terms for it. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Our Privacy Notice explains what information Miloop processes and how. Please read it alongside these Terms.
1. What Miloop Is
Miloop shows you which teammates are around the same work as you, such as a GitHub pull request, the issue it addresses, or the same codebase, and lets you reach them where you are working: a wave, a knock that can become a short voice conversation (“Talk”), a pointer left on a pull request comment (“Point”), or sharing where you are pointing during a Talk.
- The Miloop app for Mac signs you in, holds Talk audio and your microphone, sends notifications, and keeps your settings.
- The Miloop extension for Chrome recognizes the supported work in front of you and shows the people around it on the page.
- The Miloop extension for Visual Studio Code is optional. It tells the Mac app which repository is open in front of you.
Miloop is an early-stage product. Its features, the services it works with, and the platforms it supports may change.
2. Your Account
You sign in to Miloop through our sign-in provider, WorkOS. You are responsible for the sign-in methods you use and for activity under your account. Use a name that represents you, and tell us at support@miloop.app if you believe someone else has accessed your account.
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Services.
You can delete your account at any time in the Miloop app for Mac (Settings → Account). Deleting your account removes it as described in the Privacy Notice; signing in again afterwards starts a new account.
3. Connected Services
GitHub. Connecting a GitHub account is optional. Without it, Miloop does not show you, or show you anyone, on GitHub work. When you connect one, you authorize Miloop's GitHub App on GitHub, and Miloop uses that authorization only to ask GitHub whether you can access a repository you are working on. On GitHub work, Miloop shows people to each other only when GitHub confirms that both can access the repository. You can disconnect GitHub at any time in the Miloop app's settings, and revoke Miloop's authorization on GitHub yourself.
Other services. Miloop works alongside services we do not operate, including GitHub, Chrome and the Chrome Web Store, Visual Studio Code and its extension marketplaces, Apple's macOS, and our sign-in provider. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them. If a service changes or stops supporting Miloop, the related features may change or stop working.
4. Using Miloop With Others
Miloop is built for working with people you already work with. When you are around the same or related work as other Miloop users, they can see your name, profile picture, availability, and the supported work you are on, as the Privacy Notice describes. You can set your availability to Focus, which refuses waves and knocks, or Offline, which shows you to no one.
You are responsible for how you use Miloop with others, including following your organization's policies about the work and repositories you use it with. Talks happen in real time and Miloop does not record them; do not record a conversation without the consent the law requires.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- harass, threaten, or abuse others, or use waves, knocks, Points, or Talks to send unwanted or repeated interruptions;
- use the Services for anything unlawful, or to infringe anyone's rights;
- access or attempt to access another person's account, or information Miloop does not show you;
- try to get around Miloop's access checks, for example to appear around work you cannot access;
- interfere with or disrupt the Services, or place an unreasonable load on them, including through automated access;
- copy, modify, or distribute the Miloop software, or reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble it, except where the law permits this despite this restriction;
- sell, rent, lease, or sublicense the Miloop software, or remove its copyright or other proprietary notices; or
- use Miloop's name, logo, or software to suggest that something not made by Miloop comes from it.
Miloop limits how often some actions can be taken, to keep the Services working for everyone.
6. Your Work and Your Feedback
You keep all rights to your work. Miloop does not claim ownership of your repositories, issues, code, or anything else you work on, and it is not designed to collect their contents. We process only the information the Privacy Notice describes, to provide the Services.
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without obligation to you.
7. Our Software and Rights
Miloop is currently provided free of charge, and its software is licensed, not sold. Subject to these Terms, we give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use unmodified copies of the Miloop app for Mac and the Miloop extension for Chrome, to use the Services. The Miloop extension for Visual Studio Code is licensed under the license that comes with it, which permits the same: installing and using unmodified copies, free of charge, to connect Visual Studio Code to the Miloop app. These Terms apply to your use of it as well.
Miloop, its software, its website, and its name and logo belong to us and are protected by law. These Terms do not give you any right to use the Miloop name or logo.
8. Availability, Updates, and Changes
We work to keep Miloop running, but we do not promise that the Services will always be available, uninterrupted, or free of errors, and we may change, suspend, or stop any part of them.
The Miloop app for Mac updates itself, and the extensions update through the stores you installed them from. Some features need the Mac app and the Chrome extension to be compatible versions; Miloop tells you when one of them needs updating, and an out-of-date version may not work until it is updated.
9. Suspension and Termination
You can stop using the Services at any time, and delete your account in the Miloop app for Mac.
We may suspend or end your access to the Services if you break these Terms, if your use puts other people or the Services at risk, or if we stop providing the Services. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you first. Sections 6 through 12 continue to apply after your access ends.
10. Disclaimers
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Presence and availability are approximate: Miloop may show someone shortly after they have left, or not yet show someone who has arrived. Do not rely on Miloop for urgent or emergency communication.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Miloop will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or business, arising from or related to the Services or these Terms.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Miloop's total liability for all claims arising from or related to the Services or these Terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid Miloop during the 12 months before the claim arose, or US$100.
Some places do not allow these exclusions or limits, so some of them may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Services will be brought in the courts located in Orange County, Florida, and you and Miloop consent to their jurisdiction, except where the law of the place you live gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
Before bringing a claim, please contact us at support@miloop.app so we can try to resolve it informally.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as Miloop changes. We will post the updated Terms on this page with a new date, and for a material change we will give reasonable notice, for example in the Miloop app or by other means. If you keep using the Services after the change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.
14. General
These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Miloop about the Services. If any part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a part of these Terms, we have not given up the right to do so later. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may transfer ours in connection with a reorganization, merger, or sale of Miloop.
